How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I first joined in the summer of 2013 after a job layoff so I had free time and came every single day ūüôā Then after I got a FT job+commute+single parent challenges, I felt like didn’t have time come to FC anymore. BIG MISTAKE. I have now been back 3 months because I need the discipline/structure of the class format not to mention the support of this entire tribe of strong amazing women! Even just the 2 classes/week I have been fitting in has been life changing (again!) and I forgot how the positivity trickles down to everything else in my life.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? Realizing that in order to take care of my 2 daughters and be a good role model that I had to put myself on my own to do list and make myself and my health a PRIORITY! I used to think it was selfish after I became a mother and then especially a single mother to take even just 30 minutes away from the kids or other ‘to-do’s’ but I was so wrong. Self care is not selfish!

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? Knowing how I felt before: tired, depressed, squishy and out of shape… and knowing I never want to feel that way again keeps me motivated! The biggest obstacle has been my own brain/self sabotage in thinking I can’t stick to something this physical because I used to be such a quitter when it came to working out. When the goin’ got tough, I got goin’ (as in quitting!) ūüôĀ

 What is your favorite part of FCE?  3 things: 1) No two classes are the same so it keeps my body guessing 2) the classes are only 30 minutes so I never get bored or look at the clock 3) the camaraderie and support of all the other women!

What advice would you offer to newbies? You will be sore and question if you can do this, but push through! You can survive anything for 30 minutes and the rewards you will gain are so worth the initial pain! If you get stressed by life and want to quit, realize that putting yourself on your own to-do list should always stay a priority somehow!

 In one sentence how would you describe your experience at FCE.

Self care = self love = superpowers for all other aspects of your life!

Each workout in our personalized group training is unique, with a different daily focus to guarantee a well-rounded experience that addresses the entire body.  Each class is 30 minutes in length with a mix of cardio, resistance training, core strength and stability, flexibility, and calisthenics. This high energy workout is geared toward ramping up your metabolism and is certain to increase strength and function. All progressions are explained to offer exercises that fit any fitness level. When completed 2-4 times a week, combined with our nutritional guidance and good lifestyle choices, our program is proven to have extraordinary effects on weight loss, muscle tone and development, and overall health and well being.

Join Dawn Wildes of Growing Branches Yoga on Sunday, May 22 at 3:00-­4:15 at Fit Chick Express for an introduction to a SUP yoga class along with a short Q & A forum afterwards. She will bring a Kona inflatable board and paddle for you to check out too.

The class will cover:

­Board basics

Short instruction on paddle strokes

­SUP Yoga pose introduction

­45 minute yoga flow mimicking a SUP yoga class

This class is FREE‚Äč and open to all levels of yogis and paddlers both male & female!

Dawn Wildes has her 200 hour yoga certification focusing on vinyasa style yoga with an emphasis on alignment and adjustments. She is also certified in kids yoga. Additionally, Dawn has her SUP Yoga certification and offers Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga classes at Union Reservoir through Rocky Mountain Paddleboard. How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I have been a member of Fit Chick for one year!¬† I originally came to Fit Chick to provide chair massage, and I was coerced into a free trial period… I was hooked after that ūüôā

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? Finishing Acupuncture school, working out at Fit Chick allowed me to manage my stress and tension.

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? My family. Apparently, I am a more chill mother and better partner when I attend classes.¬† My husband’s surgery and following complications have been the biggest obstacle for me in the past year.¬† I am still trying to get back to my regular schedule.

What is your favorite part of FCE? The community.  Moving to CO in May 2013, I knew no one and had no support system.  This group of women has made me feel like I have a family and an amazing support system.

What advice would you offer to newbies? Stick with it, and work through the pain!! The results¬†are worth it….physically and mentally.

In one sentence how would you describe your experience at FCE. Fit Chick has made me feel empowered!

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I have been a member for about 4 years. A friend talked me into trying it.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? My greatest accomplishment is that I can keep up pretty good with girls 20 or more years younger than I am! I couldn’t say that when I first started, the first day I was shaking so bad and I wanted to throw up! I thought I was in shape, but found out walking is better than nothing…….but doesn’t come close to how strong I have become and how good I feel!

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? What keeps me motivated?  ANGIE! I have never been bored with the work out EVER! Boredom could make me lose interest real fast.

What is your favorite part of FCE? MY favorite part of FCE is the friendships, and working out along side someone to keep you going.

What advice would you offer to newbies? My advice to newbies is give it a chance…….chances are you will end up with a better body!

In one sentence how would you describe your experience at FCE. My experience at FCE has been good, even if we have to end the class with burpees ( I didn’t know what they were when I first started ) I love to hear those three words GOOD JOB GIRLS!
