How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here?   I started at Fit Chick in February 2017 for my 2 weeks free and joined in March. I heard about Fit Chick from two people, Ann Noble, who I know from First Lutheran Church in Longmont, and Aimee Adams, who I know from the Mead High School concessions team. Both spoke very highly of the program and their enthusiasm made me want to try the 2 weeks free. I had noticed that, since I turned 50, my weight was increasing and my muscle tone was decreasing. I know that, if I want to continue to ski, paddleboard, kayak, etc. into my 70s and beyond, I need to work on my muscle tone, flexibility and balance.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE?  Last year, I did not feel comfortable skiing with my kids.  I felt that I could hurt myself if I fell.  I did not ski any black diamonds and my knees hurt by the afternoon.

This year, we went to Steamboat and I skied for two days and went down some black diamonds.  I could jump from mogul to mogul on the steep slopes with confidence.  My muscles were not sore in the afternoon.

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? I feel better if I go and workout at Fit Chick.  I like the Boot Camp one day and Piyo the next day.  My biggest obstacle is getting there in the morning, especially this summer with the kids out of school.  There is a lot of things to get done at home.

What is your favorite part of FCE? I like the Boot Camp to make me work and the Piyo to help my flexibility and balance.  I like that Angie and Bobbie correct my technique (I am not the most coordinated person) and give me a modified option if I cannot do the original move.  I also like how the workouts are different every day.

What advice would you offer to newbies? Come and try the 2 weeks free.  There is no pressure.  You can think of it as “meeting for coffee with the ladies” for a half an hour.  We laugh.

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE? Fit Chick is a fun challenge.

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here?   I started Fit Chick Express about 6 months ago. I came to Fit Chick Express because I was tired of the gym atmosphere and wanted to belong to a place that had women with similar goals and struggled with similar problems when it came to fitness, nutrition and motivation.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE?  I have a better attitude and outlook on my fitness goals.

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? What keeps me motivated are the attitudes and women I met at Fit Chick Express. They push you to do your best, to give your best of yourself for yourself. I’ve struggled with “the getting there” after a long day at work and getting home I’ve had to learn to keep myself busy and not sit down on the couch because that is where I would stay. Making excuses for myself that I will do class tomorrow but I love my Zumba classes, my boot camp classes, the instructors and the women that are in the classes. I’ve come to look forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces and the way I feel after the classes.

What is your favorite part of FCE? I’d have to say the Instructors. Dawna with her bubbly and quirky personality that keeps me smiling and giggling all through Zumba class. Bobbie with her, “you can do it, good job, here try it this way” motivation and knowledge. I had fractured my wrist about 2 months ago and have had to make adjustment when in the classes but both Dawna and Bobbie were more than accommodating and helpful.

What advice would you offer to newbies?  Find what works for you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Above all else don’t compare yourself to anyone else. We all have a journey we are on to be a better version of ourselves. It’s one day at a time, one work out at a time. You have to work for it and love the “you” you are now.

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE? I found a place where I feel I can finally become the healthy, strong person I’ve long to become.

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here?  I have been a member of Fit Chick since October 2016 and, ironically, I learned about it from a Facebook tag for my friend Fran Wahl. Little did I know she wasn’t a 6 am boot camp attendee.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE?  Getting back into a regular workout routine – I had gotten out of the routine after a skiing accident that sidelined me for too long, and I could never get motivated to start exercising again.

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? I don’t like the early morning alarm, but I love all the fun ladies and the ability to get my workout in before my work day starts. Biggest obstacle — the Snooze button – don’t use it!

What is your favorite part of FCE? Constant variety and laughter.

What advice would you offer to newbies?  Try all the different classes, don’t be afraid if you have never done it before – everyone is very helpful and you just might like it.

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE? How can you put it in one sentence? – but thanks for putting up with my constant yawning in the 6 am class.

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here?  I’ve been a Fit Chick for 6 months and I came seeking to get toned and feel better about how I looked. My friend Raluca has been going to the boot camp classes and she had great results.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE?  I participated in a 10-week diet challenge and learned to eat better and incorporate more veggies in my meals. At the end of the challenge I was happy with how I felt and looked and got lots of compliments on the change. Now there’s no smoothie I’m making at home that doesn’t have spinach or kale in it!

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? Seeing the results keeps me motivated. Finding time to work out was a serious obstacle! When I kept hearing health professionals saying one should exercise at least 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes, I thought it would be impossible for me to find the time. I am involved in lots of community activities and have a daily commute into Denver. Now I go to Fit Chick Express at least 3 times a week!

What is your favorite part of FCE? The women community here is extraordinary! We all make fun of how hard the workouts are (and yet we still come for some reason), but the instructors are very encouraging and knowledgeable on how to modify for one’s needs.

What advice would you offer to newbies?  Working out at 6 AM is not that crazy: you get it done early in the day and it gives you the energy and stamina you need to survive a busy day.

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE? The FCE experience has been the answer to what I needed to push my physical abilities a step further.

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here?  I was first a member in 2011 for 3 years then had to stop because of a change in my work but was able to join again this past December. I’m so happy to be back!! And people remembered me from the previous time I spent at FCE!

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE?  Improved strength and energy level! I can fit into clothes that I wasn’t able to in a while!

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? My motivation comes from how FCE makes me feel when I do it consistently-healthy, happy and energized (and that good kind of sore!). My main obstacle is finding the time to fit it in with work and home life, that is why the 30 min. workouts are so perfect!

What is your favorite part of FCE? The workouts, the variety of workouts/exercises we do and of course the amazing wonderful fun group of ladies!!! I may not be the most vocal but I love the supportive, fun, non judgmental atmosphere! OH…and I love Angie who pushes us and keeps us accountable…she knows when you haven’t been there and calls you out!

What advice would you offer to newbies?  Keep with it, do what you can and enjoy the women that are surrounding you while working out!

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE? My experience at FCE has been so much FUN! It is the one program that has kept me motivated by giving me results, a community of support and has kept me healthy and happy! Thanks Fit Chick!

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here?  I have been a Fit Chick for 6 years. I had hit the big 50 the year before, and realized that I needed some help in my efforts to be in better shape. I came for the free week of workouts, and even though I couldn’t do everything, felt nauseous during the workout, and could hardly move after the first one, I was hooked!

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE?  I am much more disciplined and consistent, not only with my exercise program, with my diet, sleep, all aspects of my health. I show up, I workout hard, and I feel better!

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? When I workout I feel more confident, strong, and healthy. If I need to pick up a 50 pound box, no problem, run 2 miles , while I would not love it, I could do it and more. I have had injuries during these 6 years, plantar fasciitis, sprained ankle, annoying muscle strains, you know the usual aches and pains, but I never stopped working out. Angie is always quick to modify for your injury, and she is just a wealth of knowledge on how to help your body cope with stress.

What is your favorite part of FCE? My favorite part of FCE is when I am finished! Thirty minutes of intense, challenging, go, go, Go!!! Boom, you are done, and then that glowing relaxed endorphin rush of “I did it, again”.

What advice would you offer to newbies?  Do this for yourself, keep coming to class, look at the long game, this is a life style commitment. Forget about what number the scales says, in a short period of time you will see muscles defined, better cardio endurance, mental stress…poof…gone! You will not find a more supportive, hilarious, good hearted group of women to be friends with, and change your body at the same time!

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE? FCE is a gift to myself.
