How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? One year. I drove by FCE several times on my way home from work and thought why not? I saw there was a two week trial and said to myself ‘I can do anything for 2 weeks’. I loved the two week trial and have continued ever since.
What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? I have lost weight and several inches since coming here. It keeps me motivated to continue on a path of a healthy lifestyle. When first starting the classes, there were many exercises I couldn’t do and now I can! I never thought I’d say this but even the burpees are easier than before…….
What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? The different work outs each day are motivating. IT IS NOT BORING!!! 😉 I love that everyday it’s different and challenging from the cardio, strength and core training. I also had chronic shoulder pain from college sports that was awful each and every day. I am so happy to say that pain is 95% gone now! I owe this to FCE.
What is your favorite part of FCE? I really love how the instructors keep me motivated by changing it up, encouraging me, challenging me & modifying the exercises when needed.
What advice would you offer to newbies? Keep coming!!! It’s fun and the work outs do get easier. You will look forward to coming to class! It’s a Happy Place.
In one sentence how would you describe your experience at FCE. I’ve had a wonderful, positive and life changing experience that I hope to continue at FCE
How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I’ve been a member for about 9 months. I was looking for boot camp classes and found FCE online. I fell in love with the different classes and more importantly the supportive environment. It was a life changing decision.
What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? My greatest accomplishment so far is weight loss and the sense of accountability and accomplishment I have re-discovered in myself.
What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? I have a long term goal to lose 40 lbs before I travel to Cambodia with Habitat for Humanity in November. I’m half-way there! Seeing the numbers on the scale fall helps but I also have made friends with women in my classes who have encouraged me. And getting called out by the wonderful trainers when they haven’t seen me in a while reminds me to get my butt back in gear and get back into the gym. It’s been a huge motivator. My biggest obstacles have been losing focus and not paying attention to what I’m eating or making time for the gym. Fortunately I haven’t had a lapse in a few months and I feel great every time I leave the gym. Also, early morning classes are a challenge for me to get to (I love sleep!!!) But I’m working to make them a priority. Finally, I had an unexpected gallbladder surgery which has knocked me out of exercising for the next 4 weeks. I’m already having gym withdrawl!
What is your favorite part of FCE? The laughter and camaraderie I experience with the women in our classes. Even if I don’t know someone, by the end of class we’re encouraging, joking around and supporting each other on our individual journeys.
What advice would you offer to newbies? Try out all the different classes – I never thought I’d like Zumba and it’s become my favorite class. Don’t be afraid to speak up and introduce yourself to someone new. We’re all here to support each other and it’s fun to recognize folks and be able to call them by name.
In one sentence how would you describe your experience at FCE. An inspiring community full of zany, compassionate women who are passionate about their health and fitness.
How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I started Fit Chick Express over two years ago. I wanted a workout that I could do 5 days a week that was challenging without being over-the-top exhausting.
What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? I actually come to class 5 days a week. That has always been my goal, but with other workouts I honestly wasn’t that motivated and made excuses not to go. I don’t do that with bootcamp and PIYO. (Okay sometimes I do.) I just honestly love coming to class!
What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? Big motivating factors for me are:1) The workouts are fun! I love the workouts because they are always different. My previous workouts (gym classes, yoga) were too predictable for me and I would get bored. 2) The women. It’s just fun to get together with a group of women who genuinely like each other and want to have fun and get healthy together. 3) It’s only 30 minutes. I can do anything for 30 minutes! 4) I feel and look better now that I’m doing bootcamp and PIYO. I rarely get sick, I’m super strong, and I just put on my first mini-skirt of the season and noticed how long and lean my legs looked! (Thanks PIYO!)
What is your favorite part of FCE? All of the above, but if I had to pick THEE number one thing I love about FCE I would say it’s the workout, namely the Bootcamp/PIYO combo. The workouts are designed to engage different muscles everyday, so I feel functionally stronger than ever. I get cardio, strength, balance and core all in one package at FCE.
What advice would you offer to newbies? One of the greatest things about FCE is that we’re just a bunch of normal women. (Well, okay not really.) What I mean is that we are not “cookie cutter”. We all have different shapes and sizes. There’s no competition or pretentious attitude. We don’t need expensive exercise clothes or gear. If you think you don’t “look right” or that you don’t have the body type for this workout, you’re wrong.

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I first met Angie for coffee on December 31, 2009. I quickly joined FCE and began working out with the Fit Chicks at Life Bridge Church.
What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? I won a Transformation Challenge in April 2010, losing almost 20 pounds and gaining new perspective on health and nutrition.
What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? Motivation is a tough one for me. I have problems with anxiety and self-esteem. The support of FCE through the website, classes, and friendships keep me going.
What is your favorite part of FCE? I love that this is for women only. We’re in this together and genuinely care for and support each other.
What advice would you offer to newbies? Just take it one day at a time. If you have a tough week where you can’t work out, or indulge in cupcakes & margaritas on Friday night… tomorrow is a new day and you keep on going.
In one sentence how would you describe your experience at FCE. My experience at FCE continues to be a journey of sweat, tears, laughter and love.
How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I first joined in the summer of 2013 after a job layoff so I had free time and came every single day 🙂 Then after I got a FT job+commute+single parent challenges, I felt like didn’t have time come to FC anymore. BIG MISTAKE. I have now been back 3 months because I need the discipline/structure of the class format not to mention the support of this entire tribe of strong amazing women! Even just the 2 classes/week I have been fitting in has been life changing (again!) and I forgot how the positivity trickles down to everything else in my life.
What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? Realizing that in order to take care of my 2 daughters and be a good role model that I had to put myself on my own to do list and make myself and my health a PRIORITY! I used to think it was selfish after I became a mother and then especially a single mother to take even just 30 minutes away from the kids or other ‘to-do’s’ but I was so wrong. Self care is not selfish!
What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? Knowing how I felt before: tired, depressed, squishy and out of shape… and knowing I never want to feel that way again keeps me motivated! The biggest obstacle has been my own brain/self sabotage in thinking I can’t stick to something this physical because I used to be such a quitter when it came to working out. When the goin’ got tough, I got goin’ (as in quitting!) 🙁
What is your favorite part of FCE?3 things: 1) No two classes are the same so it keeps my body guessing 2) the classes are only 30 minutes so I never get bored or look at the clock 3) the camaraderie and support of all the other women!
What advice would you offer to newbies? You will be sore and question if you can do this, but push through! You can survive anything for 30 minutes and the rewards you will gain are so worth the initial pain! If you get stressed by life and want to quit, realize that putting yourself on your own to-do list should always stay a priority somehow!
