Chris Bayon

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I’ve been a Fit Chick member for 3 years and was brought by a referral from my friend, Kelly Wyjad.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? My greatest accomplishment has been getting my strength back and my body feeling 10 years younger.

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? Everyone needs a motivator in their life like Angie and I’m blessed she is a part of mine!  She keeps me motivated! My biggest obstacle is the inability to have a set schedule due to travel for work.

I’ve been known to be a challenge drop out in the past so I’ve come into 2017 with a new thinking that it’s not all black and white.  There can be some grey area so long as you keep going.

What is your favorite part of FCE? My favorite part of FCE is the challenge of the boot camp workouts and the ability to keep pushing yourself.  I’m never bored.

What advice would you offer to newbies?  The quote I’ve embraced for 2017 is “Fall down 7 times, stand up 8”.

Set small goals that you can obtain weekly, they are small wins that become bigger wins overtime.

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE.  Fit Chick is the best workout regime I’ve added into my life and I couldn’t imagine life without it.

 

Featured Fit Chick – Dee

Dee Thompson

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? —I joined in October 2016. I was looking for a place to do Kickboxing and essentially knew I would come here instead of another place because it was close to my home.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? I am strengthening my upper body more everyday.

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? The camaraderie keeps me motivated. Making myself go to classes, even when I’m exhausted is a big obstacle, but I’ve learned that I will be energized and feel better afterwards.

What is your favorite part of FCE? The laughter that pushes us all through the end of classes! There are many fun and humorous women at FCE and I’m doing great things for my body and health!

What advice would you offer to newbies?  Keep going and ask for help if you need it!!!

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE.  An enjoyable way to be healthy and have fun at the same time!

Featured Fit Chick – AnnaMarie

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I’m not even sure anymore how long I’ve been with FCE! I came to a Zumba class with friends from work back in 2011, I believe. Shakin’ it in front of a room full of people intimidated the hell out of me! I did Zumba for about a year before Dawna suggested I try the Boot Camp classes. I’ve also done Kickboxing with Stephanie since she started it up a few years ago and now I can’t imagine a Saturday morning without it!

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? CONFIDENCE!  I’ve accomplished so many amazing things since I started here: climbing Bierstadt, running a few 5k races, improved numbers on assorted lab tests,  having the confidence in my body to do a boudoir photo session, getting my running time down to a 10-minute mile… who knows what’s yet to come?!

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? My biggest obstacle has been my own body. I tore an ab muscle two years ago and had to take a long break from any activity. That, combined with stress , a job change, and getting married, has caused a big setback on my health goals and I gained 18 pounds back. That’s heartbreaking after having worked so hard to get 75 pounds off! I also have shoulder and wrist weakness so I feel like I’m always having to take it easy or modify. Luckily, the trainers at FCE are amazingly kind and supportive and make great modifications and workouts that still challenge me.

What is your favorite part of FCE? The way if makes me feel! I feel so energized after each workout (no matter how much I complain during it!)

What advice would you offer to newbies? Stick with it, give it a good chance.  Don’t give up even after setbacks. It takes time to see results but you’ll feel so great and THAT’s what’s important!

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE.  FCE is a great place for fast and fierce workouts and new friendships!

Nikki Lee

 How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? My experience at FCE has empowered me to take a firm hold of my future and live my very best life!

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? My most major accomplishment since becoming an FCE member would have to be my overall strength. I love that I can finally see some muscle in my arms and that’s a reminder of all my hard work.

 What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? My motivation comes from wanting to be healthy and to keep up with my kids. When I first started working out, I had horrible exercise-induced asthma. Each time I worked out, it was a struggle. However, every week I could see that I was building stamina and strength.

What is your favorite part of FCE? I love the quick, and intense boot camp classes. I feel that I get a great workout in a short amount of time. I also love the instructors and the members.

What advice would you offer to newbies? The advice that I would give to new members would be to fight through the pain. To be patient for results, because it doesn’t happen overnight!!

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE.  My experiences here at FCE has been happy, healthy and fun.

Featured Fit Chick – Dorothy

Dorothy Noble

How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? My friend Deb told me about FCE back in 2012.  I have been a member since then but had to take some time off because life got in the way.  During that time, I worked out on my own but missed FCE a lot.  I kept in touch but missed the women, workouts, and challenges.

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? My greatest accomplishment is being able to hike/climb 14ers!  It takes a lot of strength, endurance and perseverance to get to the top.  It takes, not only physical ability, but mental as well.  FCE gives you both – the physical strength, endurance and the mental capacity to stick it out and know you can do it.

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? My motivation is purely to keep myself strong and healthy so I can continue to hike and climb mountains, keep up with my kids (and one day grandkids), help people, travel the world and truly live each day.

I think the biggest obstacle all women face is time – time to do things for ourselves, to put ourselves first.  We all have insane ‘must do’ lists.  FCE is 30 of the best minutes you’ll spend on yourself during the day.  To overcome the time obstacle, I think of those mountains, kids and travel destinations… it gets me to FCE every time!

What is your favorite part of FCE? There are so many favorite parts!  The women are incredible – they are strong in their hearts and body, they are open, loving, and crazy fun.  My favorite exercises are strength exercises – I love the tire pull, ropes, TRX and kickboxing!

What advice would you offer to newbies?  The best advice I can offer is to have a vision of your life to guide you and take it one day at a time.  Life is easier when your body is strong, especially as you get older.  When you start FCE, your body will be sore but you WILL see a difference in your strength and stamina in time.

Heather Swanson

 How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I have been a member of Fit Chick for about 2 years now. I was attracted to Fit Chick because I needed someplace that I could feel I belonged and to motivate me to get in shape!

What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? Sticking with it! I haven’t ever stayed committed to a fitness program long-term before.

What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? Knowing how good I feel when I finish boot camp keeps me coming back. Fitting in workouts between busy work and family schedules is my biggest challenge.

What is your favorite part of FCE? I love all of the other ladies and the 30 minute format- I can do anything for 30 minutes!

What advice would you offer to newbies?  Stick with it- even if you go through times where you can’t or don’t make it to class, just keep looking to schedule it in and make it a priority.

In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE.  My experience at Fit Chick has been supportive, fun and fantastic!
