These two things will keep you from losing weight and can wreak havoc on your hormones.
I speak from experience of course. 😉
Think about it for a second…
What happens if you don’t get good sleep?
➡️You wake up tired and use caffeine to wake you up. You eat a lot of carbs because you think they will give you energy and they are the only things that sound good. Then you hit that energy crash and eat more carbs.
This ends up adding more calories and keeps you from losing weight. 🤷♀️
What happens if you are stressed?
➡️ Well, first off you probably don’t sleep. So then you wake up and …. the same story as above. Only this time you grab sugary foods and whatever is in front of you because you can’t focus on anything else.
These are 2 of the 6 foundational steps in my Hormone Program.
And when handled correctly, can have the biggest impact on any results you are shooting for.
So, I thought I would share some of the ways I am putting more focus on my sleep and managing my stress this month…
👍First. I will be listening to binaural beats as I read my book before I go to bed.
This will help to calm down my brain allowing me to get good quality sleep.
👍Second, at the end of my work day, I am going to make a list of things I want to get done the following day.
This will help keep all the “to do” thoughts from spiraling around my head in the in the middle of the night.
👍Third, I am going to be OKAY with saying NO to some things.
My plate is full and I need to realize I can only do so much. As I tell my clients, if they don’t take care of themselves, they won’t be good to anyone else. 😉
👍Fourth, I am going to take naps. 💤
If I am not getting enough sleep at night, I can’t function and it makes me stressed.
So squeezing in a 20-30 min nap when I need one BEFORE 3pm is going to help me GSD!!
👍Last, I am going to use natural sleep supplements (ones that I recommend to my hormone clients) as a way to get my body back into the normal rhythm of sleeping again.
These may not be rocket science ideas, but these are things that I have used in the past that have helped. 😊
And here’s to ending 2021 less-stressed, full of energy, AND without that extra fluff in the middle! 😉
🤔Do YOU have any ways you have dealt with stress and sleep this past year? Please share!!
