How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I started Fit Chick Express about 6 months ago. I came to Fit Chick Express because I was tired of the gym atmosphere and wanted to belong to a place that had women with similar goals and struggled with similar problems when it came to fitness, nutrition and motivation.
What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? I have a better attitude and outlook on my fitness goals.
What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? What keeps me motivated are the attitudes and women I met at Fit Chick Express. They push you to do your best, to give your best of yourself for yourself. I’ve struggled with “the getting there” after a long day at work and getting home I’ve had to learn to keep myself busy and not sit down on the couch because that is where I would stay. Making excuses for myself that I will do class tomorrow but I love my Zumba classes, my boot camp classes, the instructors and the women that are in the classes. I’ve come to look forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces and the way I feel after the classes.
What is your favorite part of FCE? I’d have to say the Instructors. Dawna with her bubbly and quirky personality that keeps me smiling and giggling all through Zumba class. Bobbie with her, “you can do it, good job, here try it this way” motivation and knowledge. I had fractured my wrist about 2 months ago and have had to make adjustment when in the classes but both Dawna and Bobbie were more than accommodating and helpful.
What advice would you offer to newbies? Find what works for you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Above all else don’t compare yourself to anyone else. We all have a journey we are on to be a better version of ourselves. It’s one day at a time, one work out at a time. You have to work for it and love the “you” you are now.
In one sentence, how would you describe your experience at FCE? I found a place where I feel I can finally become the healthy, strong person I’ve long to become.
