Tell us about how your fitness journey began? I think I was 50 or 51 (I am now 58) and I thought to myself, I don’t want to be a fat old lady. I had been very overweight as a child and teenager so the motivation was there, I just needed to get off my butt and do it.
What has been your greatest accomplishment since beginning your fitness journey? I should probably not be vain and say that it was finding my inner strength but seriously it was finally fitting into a size 8 jeans.
What keeps me motivated? Knowing that I have yet to face my toughest task. What obstacles have you had to overcome? I had to find the confidence to continue on with my journey and the will. I have struggled with (and still do) what I call the phantom fat – I look in the mirror and still see my former self.
What advice would you give to others who are just beginning their fitness journey? Never, never give up. If you fall down one day, get up the next. You will achieve your goal.
