How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here? I have been a member since April 2012. I first came to FCE because I hadn’t yet found the right fit for me. FCE met the location, cost and support requirements I was looking for. I need the support of a gym that will push me since I won’t push myself.
What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE? I feel so much stronger and don’t feel intimated anymore. Some gyms make you feel like you don’t belong and that you shouldn’t pick up the bigger weight or do a certain exercise because you don’t have 1% body fat and muscles coming out of your eyeballs. At FCE I don’t feel those limitations, if I feel like pushing myself I can try it out and see how it goes without feeling like people are judging me.
What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome? With anything there are ebbs and flows and to be honest I’m in a rut with my motivation right now. I know it will come back to me as it always does. It’s comforting to know when this happens that there are likely several others at FCE having the same issue. Getting support from fellow members and trainers is what makes FCE so great. The online support can turn your day around when you see that someone else is having the same problem as you and are looking for support just like you.
What is your favorite part of FCE? I have said this a million times, but I’ll say it again. The thought of going to an all women’s gym sounded like the exact opposite of what I would want to do, however, that is my favorite part about FCE. FCE is real women that are there to work out and not judge each other or cut each other down. I have never seen a group of women that are so supportive and giving to one another. Most of the time women are so hard on each other, competitive and catty, but here the women are genuine and caring and really want to know about your life.
What advice would you offer to newbies? Definitely give it a try and don’t think past the two week trial. When I joined the trial, I just thought to myself, it’s two weeks and if I don’t like it after that it was only two weeks and it was free, so no loss. After two weeks you’ll love it and by then you have already formed a habit of working out.
In one sentence how would you describe your experience at FCE? What else would I be doing at 6am…besides sleeping?
