Featured Fit Chick – Steph



  • How long have you been a member of Fit Chick Express and what brought you here?  I just celebrated my 4-year anniversary with FCE!  Kim Taylor had been talking about Fit Chick and inviting me over and over and over.  I finally succumbed. 🙂  I’ve always been a team sports athlete, and after 4 knee surgeries, it was time to hang up the cleats and find something new to get me back into shape.
  • What has been your greatest accomplishment since becoming a member of FCE?  My greatest accomplishment is that I’ve stuck with this for 4 years!  I’ve never ever been this committed to an exercise program.  I try to come 5 days a week at 6 a.m. Oh and arm muscles. 🙂
  • What keeps you motivated? What obstacles have you had to overcome?  I’ve NEVER been a morning person and I finally realized that the the only real time I have for myself is early in the a.m.  If I don’t exercise first thing in the morning, it won’t happen.  Waking up at 5:25 a.m. every day was SUPER hard at first, but now I’m used to it.  I am motivated by my friends who come with me every morning in the “clown car.”  When you’ve committed to carpool, it isn’t so easy to cancel!
  • What is your favorite part of FCE?  I enjoy all of the wonderful women who come to class and make me laugh each day. What a great community!  I love that every workout is different.  Angie always mixes it up with a nice, challenging balance of strength and cardio over the week.  Having dealt with a few injuries recently, it is nice to have suggested alternatives if you can’t do something.  I also secretly enjoy the “extras” after class.
  • What advice would you offer to newbies?  Stick with it!  You will see results.
  • In one sentence how would you describe your experience at FCE?  Fit Chick has added a special community of caring, funny, helpful and fit women to my life and I am thankful to start each day with them.
